okay so like... i don't usually write reviews?? bc adhd and also
procrastination
but i HAVE to for GrammarGuru bc this person literally saved my academic life and i need the universe to know.

the backstory:
i'm a theater major (yes i know, "what are you gonna do with THAT degree"
) but for my capstone i had to write this HUGE research paper about gender representation in contemporary musical theatre. like 25 pages. TWENTY FIVE. that's basically a whole play script but with citations.
i wrote it. i thought it was good. then i read it out loud (the actor in me) and... yikes. the sentences were so long i ran out of breath. my arguments got lost in the sauce. it was giving... word salad with a side of confusion.

enter GrammarGuru:
found them here in the editing section. messaged at like 2am (theater kid sleep schedule is WILD). they replied within a few hours and were so nice about my chaotic explanation of what i needed.
what they did:
i got an A-. AN A-!!! on a 25-page paper!!! i literally cried in the library bathroom. not my finest moment but also... valid.

cost: $150 for the whole thing. took about 4 days. worth every single penny.
if you need an editor who actually CARES about your voice and doesn't just make everything sound like a textbook, hit up GrammarGuru. tell them amanda sent you. they'll know what that means (probably chaos).
k bye love u all

what they did:
- fixed my comma abuse (i use commas like i use emojis: excessively)
- chopped run-on sentences into actual sentences
- kept my VOICE though?? like it still sounded like ME, just a smarter, more organized version of me who actually breathes between thoughts
- left comments explaining WHY they changed things so i could learn
- caught like 3 places where my argument literally made no sense (embarrassing but necessary)
