I'm taking a Paralegal Studies certificate course (alongside my regular classes because apparently I hate having free time). And the writing is... a lot. Like, it's not just "write an essay." It's "draft a memo analyzing this case law and use proper legal citation."
Regular AI like ChatGPT is okay for general stuff but when I ask it to write in "legal style" it either sounds like a bad movie or makes up fake cases?? (Apparently that's a known thing—AI hallucinating court cases?? wild.)
What I need:
I've heard of Casetext and Harvey AI but I think those are for actual lawyers and probably expensive. Is there anything for students?? Free or cheap preferably.
I'm not trying to cheat—I just want help with structure and terminology so I can learn by example. My professor's feedback is always "this isn't how lawyers write" but doesn't explain how to fix it.

- Writes in that formal-but-clear legal memo style
